vous êtes là aussi?

louis, this is prudence. Hope this random piece of comment didnt ruin the beauty of your entry. I love the passage actually.

Am now in stockholm, working, and here I met someone called kaifeng, do you know her? she used to study in the same place as yours.

Just tried to reach you through email but it seems it is not working. Would you give me your new address?

by the way, where are you now?

I had been reading some Zhang Ailing before I came, regretably I didnt bring them along.

hi prudence, it's been a long time... everything alright there in stockholm? it's just one step away from where your favourite director is (he's a finnish as i remember?), u must be grumbling about getting a day-off for a pilgrimage i guess... : )

yes we called her Kai when we met each other... what a small world, and how rootless could it be as a student studying in europe! she's doing well?

i've been back from paris for a week, ripped off from the context and the language environment where i always wanted to be in - the non-anglophonic environment. donc profite de ton séjour là-bas prudence, ça fait du bien pour toi je suis sûr : )

i planned to write something about this coincidence thing proposed by Eileen Chang - "le hasard" in french, which ironically has a tinge of danger after perceived by our english-affected mind. however to me, meeting somebody "par hasard" is exactly what all these suggest - the beauty lies in the venom itself. drink it or leave it.

write to me if you want -
